The 2019 class information is here for general reference only.

2019 Class Description

Genealogy: The Basics – an introduction to the basic concepts and tools used in family history research. This three-session class is designed for the beginner — the person who doesn’t know how to best approach their research.

We will focus on researching in the United States, but basic concepts are transferable to researching anywhere in the world. We’ll discuss census records and vital records to begin your research and introduce you to online sources (websites and search techniques) and finding research done by others. Participants will also learn how to organize and maintain the data they obtain, both hard-copy and computerized formats.
